Ceremony information
INSTRUCTIONS FOR NATIONAL WORLD LANGUAGE
HONOR SOCIETY INDUCTEES

If you cannot attend the ceremony, please let Mrs. Cambareri know ASAP

You are asked to arrive by 4:30 p.m. on the evening of May 16th 2019 and gather at the top of the stairs next to the offices in “F” Wing.

At about 4:40 you will line up alphabetically by language for the procession into the new cafe.

Follow the teachers’ directions about where to go (for example, if you will start a new row, alphabetizing, etc.)

You will go into the seating that has been taped off for you.

Remain standing until all inductees are in place and the music stops.

Basic directions:

For each language there will be a speaker

They will invite you to join them to walk to the stage steps (not on the stage yet)

Walk down the center aisle to the steps.

When the presiding officer / consul calls your name, walk across the stage, being sure to make enough room for the number of students in your society

You will repeat the pledge.

You will exit the stage on the other side down the ramp and will be handed a flower and certificate as you go.

Return to your seat.

Although there is no required form of dress for the evening, remember that this is a special event and it is appropriate to dress accordingly. (Business casual)

Relax! If you get confused just follow the order of activities on the program or listen to the student leaders. You’ve worked hard for the recognition – relax and enjoy it!
Here the ceremonies/ pledges for each honor society. Please know that you will be expected to recite the highlighted sections. You don’t need to memorize, just be familiar with it enough to repeat it. Listen to your presiding officers/ consuls and they will tell you what to do.
